Man Sprays Mouse Poison In Whole Foods

(NEWSER) – The mystery of the man who appeared to be contaminating food at a Michigan Whole Foods has apparently been solved. It was a tip from the public that the FBI says led to the arrest of the unidentified man, who has copped to pouring a mouse poison concoction on food at the Ann Arbor Whole Foods and other stores over the last two weeks, the Detroit News reports. "The suspect has admitted to using a potentially hazardous material to contaminate food in several Ann Arbor-area grocery stores," says the FBI special agent who heads up the agency's Detroit office. "Our joint investigation leads us to believe that this individual sprayed a liquid mixture of hand sanitizer, water, and Tomcat mice poison on produce." READ MORE

Tomatoes and Potatoes, Same Tree?

A unique plant that grows both tomatoes and potatoes is to be launched in Britain for the first time. Dubbed the “ketchup and chips tree”, the bizarre TomTato is aimed at families who have limited garden space and those living in flats.

And the wacky hybrid which has taken six years to perfect through hard graft, is expected to fly off shelves when it hits Morrisons stores on Monday.

The two-in-one which can grow to a metre high, has cherry tomatoes on top and white potatoes underground. Developed by Ipswich-based horticultural firm Thompson and Morgan, the plants are grown in the Netherlands for Morrisons. READ MORE:

Chobani CEO Gives Employees 10% of Company

Greek yogurt is known for being rich in flavor and protein. Now, some employees at Chobani could become rich themselves. On Tuesday, founder and CEO Hamdi Ulukaya announced that he would be giving all of his 2,000 full-time workers awards that could be worth up to 10 percent of the privately held company's future value if it becomes public or is sold. Each employee will be given "Chobani Shares" or award units, based on workers' tenure and role at the company, which could convert to cash or shares in the event of an initial public offering or a sale. The value of the awards are dependent on company performance, however, and have the potential to be worth nothing if the company doesn't meet performance metrics. The New York Times, which first reported the news, said that if Chobani was valued at $3 billion, the average employee payout could be $150,000, and some long-tenured employees could see windfalls possibly worth more than $1 million. (A Chobani spokesperson declined to confirm those amounts.)

Faeces Bacteria Found on KFC Ice

London- The Food Standard Agency FSA has carried out an investigation to get the restaurants with poor hygienic conditions and substandard food. The investigation took an interesting turn when investigators found Birmingham KFC outlet among the list of unhygienic restaurants as they served ice contaminated with bacteria found in faeces.

Dr Margarita Gomez from Leeds Beckett University tested the samples which were collected from KFC by an undercover investigation officer and declared how the presence of bacteria could cause illness to any person who drinks icy water from KFC.
The samples were taken in Birmingham, Martineau Place KFC outlet and reporters were served icy water polluted with bacteria from waste products.
The investigation to identify and close down different restaurants with poor hygiene conditions is being carried out by Reporters from BBC One’s Rip Off Britain along with food standard agency FSA. Samples are collected from every outlet in the country.

Real Live Castaway Found while Shooting River Monsters

Animal Planet's River Monsters captures suspenseful encounters with dangerous sea creatures, but during a recent shoot, the crew came face-to-face with something they never expected to see.

An episode took a dramatic turn when the show's host, Jeremy Wade, and the film crew spotted a castaway on a largely deserted island off the coast of Australia.

The man had said his final prayer and was "preparing to die," according to Stephen Shearman, the director of the episode "Death Down Under," and one of the five people who found the castaway.

"He had said his last prayer," Shearman told InsideEdition.com. "He was prepared to die and meet his maker.".......READ MORE

Guinness World Record Broken By Aaron's

Who really needs words on this one, but here they are anyway. So.... A Guinness World Record was recently set and the video was released. It shows 1.200 people holding mattresses behind them and falling backward like a pack of lined up dominoes. Smashing into each other, one after the next, they created the longest mattress flop on Thursday in Maryland.

Of course they needed some assistance and who else better than a dominoes expert and certified by a Guinness World Record adjudicator. The previous record was 1,150.

The CEO of Aaron's pushed over the first vertical mattress and it was on from there. It may have taken 13 minutes and 38 seconds for all the kings men to fall, but it paid off.

Aaron's will be donating 1200 mattresses to Washington in an effort to aid in homelessness and ending poverty.

Way to Go Aaron's!!! Now, let's watch this human domino line.

California middle schooler found meth disguised as candy

IONE, Calif., April 6  -- A California middle-schooler found methamphetamine that looked like candy on school grounds, police said.
Chief Tracy Busby of the Ione Police Department said the boy found it at Ione Junior High and told school officials, who confiscated the drugs.
"We'll be working with the schools to see if we have any more of this activity," Busby said.
The candy looked just like hard-shelled tablet candies such as MM's or Sweet Tarts.
School officials the news the candy tested positive for methamphetamine and informed parents of the incident in a letter. I hope a blood test was implemented to make sure the children were okay.
"It was scary to see that these drugs are masked as candy and could be passed off to any student as such," the principal and vice principal wrote in a statement. "It is worrisome that it can come in the forms of very popular types of snacks that we see sold daily. Even the packaging can be similar."
It's one thing to do drugs, it's another thing to take a chance with an unsuspecting child's life. Somethings just shouldn't be.

Patriots file suit for 'Deflategate' suffering

Tom Brady and the Patriots organization took a beating for the 'Deflategate' issue.  However, the fans also felt they were under stress, aggravation and suffering. Since they lost the first round draft pick from the assigned punishment. The fans filed a federal complaint Tuesday seeking to block enforcement of the penalty.Even younger fans won't go to games with their parents like a little girl in Connecticut who thinks the games are fixed and won't attend. Even a fan from Florida who pays a hell of a lot to watch the Pats on NFL Sunday Ticket is disappointed.“Letting the powerful oppress us when we’ve done nothing wrong is about as un-American as it gets,” attorney Seth T. Carey, who filed the suit on behalf of the fans, said in a statement. “That attitude is the polar-opposite of what the real patriots fought and died for on the very ground that NFL owners sit while they rake in billions of dollars from us fans.
Representatives for the Patriots and the NFL did not respond to requests for comment.

The complaint states that there has never been any proof to back up the “Deflategate” allegations -- that the Patriots deliberately deflated footballs. The NFL and Commissioner Roger Goodell, the complaint argues, relied on “false premises and biased ‘investigations’ and untrue ‘facts’” to arrive at the decision to strip the team of its first-round draft pick.
The complaint accuses Goodell and the NFL of common law fraud, negligence, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and racketeering, among other claims. Fans were harmed by the unfair treatment of the team, the complaint alleges -- both financially, as ticket-holders, and emotionally.
In an affidavit attached to the suit, fan Michael R. DiMauro, of Florida, detailed the suffering he experienced during Deflategate -- including the moment on May 11, 2015, when Goodell announced the first-round pick penalty, a moment in which DiMauro said “my world would change forever.”
He lost at least one full night of sleep, he said in the affidavit. He started petitions and wrote letters to protest the decision, but to no avail.
“I feel that the pain that I suffer through has caused me to be stressed out, and even so stressed out that I cannot fully run my pro pick’em game, Beat Mike, the way that I want to anymore,” he wrote.

Water Crisis Is Bigger Than Just Flint, Michigan

The world water supply is on the verge of being contaminated just like Flint. It's no secret that for years people have been saying to stock up on water. These water bottling companies are so greedy, they may just pollute our clean water to make us buy their water and some of them have very strong ties to government officials.

It's all just a matter of time if no one acts now.

Save $100 On Cable

Do you ever wonder at the end of the month where all your money went? I can help you track some down.

So, I had every cable channel know to man, why? Because the channels I wanted to watch came in a bundle with a bunch of channels I didn't want to watch. For those that don't know, for the cable companies to keep a steady viewing of all their channels they bundle the less desirable channels with the most popular, put them in a package deal and force feed you. That's how they get you.

Why pay for some channels you don't even want to watch?

My cousin surprised me with a Roku 2 for Christmas. It took a little getting acquainted with, but I can truly say, I'm pissed at myself for not getting it earlier. Roku offers thousands of channels, movies, tv shows, etc... You just have to customize the programming by the media you watch.

So this is the skinny. I was paying $265 a month for 3 televisions
with a fully loaded channel package, home phone and wifi.

Now, I pay,
$64 for wifi and home phone
$7.99 for Hulu (100's of shows and movies)
$7.99 for Netflix (1000's of movies)
$24 for Sling Tv (Watch live tv on Epix, TNT, TBS, Cartoon Network, Sportscenter, etc.. )
for a grand total of: $103.98
Did I mention I watch all of these channels on my Roku 2? Everything in one place.

I also purchased a HD digital receiver for local channels for the news and such for $50.
The Roku 2 would have cost me $69
So, a start up one time fee of $119 will have you up and running.

The average person watches 34 hours of tv a week, what pay more for what you barely use.

Get your Roku today!!! Starting at $49. (Click the Roku Banner below, then click Choose Your Player)

Make The Music, Don't Let The Music Make You!!!!

In these days of the music industry we have seen a ridiculous change in people, clothing, wealth and of course lyrics. Some artist dare to be different and make money, but not as much as those who use horrible grammar and speak completely derogatory.
Some artist are too worried about losing their fan base to the right thing. These are the artist that make an amazing amount of money for making songs about bubble gum and someones daughter twerking in a club.

We have always spoken about the exploitation of people, places and things for artist to make money. However, this practice has spiraled so far out of control right now that they're even saying things like "Bitch", "Ass", etc... on television. Years ago you couldn't even say "Damn", but now it's truly a whole new world.

We once posed DJ Jamad  the question of his views of the music industry and the buffoonery of it all and this is what he had to say.

Do you agree? We would like to hear your thoughts.

Reasons Why You Shouldn't Go To Bartending School!!!

You can ask any true bartender anywhere in the world and they will all say the same thing, "Don't waste your money on bartending school!!!". Although, the main ones that are saying it have taken the class before and we all speak from experience. It's a big hustle.

So let's take a look into this shall we?

1. You pay anywhere from $300 - $600 for the class.
2. The class is 3 - 5 days long for 2 - 5 hours a day.
3. You practice with colored water, not real alcohol.
4. You learn all the functions of tools and utensils you will be using.
5. You learn the basic measures of alcohol via jigger.
6. You learn the top 10 mixed drinks.
7. You get a list of the top 50 - 100 mixed drinks.
8. Your promised job placement.
9. Your told you can come back and train with them whenever you want.

Okay, let's break this down.

So, you pay a ridiculous amount of money to take the class. In 3 - 5 days, you will learn enough to make drinks at wedding receptions, not bars and clubs. There is just way too much to learn. I don't care who you are, there will always be more to learn and a couple of days isn't going to do it.

They show you a mixing tin, jigger, etc... You can get online and find out everything you need to bartend and where to buy it. Then, in the class you start pouring the colored water with a jigger and making the mock-tails. How are you supposed to know what the drinks taste like, what they are actually supposed to look like, the weight of the alcohol to mixer if your not using the real thing? I'm sure there are some ordinances about that, but the question still stands. Also, at some point, there should be a free pour testing where you pour an ounce in a glass and then check to see how close you came the measurement.

Learning the top 10 drinks is great, truly. However, if you don't have anywhere to make the drinks on a regular basis, the student will forget, let alone a list of the top 50 drinks. Especially when 9 out 10 students don't get any kind of job placement. You may get a list of bars to apply to, but unless your a very pretty woman, you probably won't get the job. Sexist? Maybe, but not on my part. I'm just telling the truth.

You see, if you were a bar owner and someone came to apply for the job fresh out of bartending school, these are the thoughts rolling through your head.

This person is fresh out of school.
He/She won't be able to handle the volume.
This person will be practicing on my liquor, since the school used colored water.
This person may cost me a lot of money by making bad drinks, spilling and wasting alcohol making the wrong drinks, pissing of the customers and losing the company business and inventory.
This person may have to keep a cheat sheet with them meaning they will be making a Grateful Dead as long as it takes to make a real Old Fashioned.
This person may not have the personalty to be a successful bartender. (The one thing they don't stress enough while taking your money, knowing you are definitely not a good fit for the job.)
I can go on for days...............

The truth of the matter is, you never tell an interviewer that your right out of bartending school or ever took a bartending class. You will more than likely not get the job and if you do, there is usually a hidden agenda. I'm just saying.

So, people ask, "Well if I can say I've been to bartending school, what should I say?". My honest answer to that is, embellish!!! I'm not saying tell a bold face lie, but you can always say you have done a lot of private parties, events, etc... There are plenty things you can say, but I'm not going to put the bartending world on blast.

Anyways, bartending school is a huge rip off,. Especially since, I paid $500 for bartending school back in '91 and wanted to learn all I could, so I bought a Mr. Boston's Drink Book. I turned to the back of the book and everything I learned in that class was in the back of the book.
So, I spent all that money, wasted those 4 days, didn't get a job and all I had to do was spend $10 at the bookstore.

All I can say now is Buyer Beware!!!!

How Would You Feel If You Didn't Get Paid For Busting Your Hump?

What if you you went to work for 10 hours a day for base pay plus commission, sold over a $1000 worth of product and only got paid $25?

I'm pretty sure you would be pissed off and ready to quit. That's how bartenders and servers all over the world feel when people don't tip like they should.

In the Service Industry most employees commission is called gratuity. For those that don't know, gratuity is a tip or any appreciation directed to the one who served you. 99% of the time, the gratuity is displayed in currency. Sometimes, tickets, passes, jewelry, etc... Whatever the case, the server can judge your level of appreciation or your lack there of by your level of gratuity.

The gratuity percentage back in the day was 15%, which basically translates to $15 on every $100. It is now 18%, but most people just round up to 20%. Of course, you can definitely go higher, but that is the basic expected tip around the country for anyone worth their salt.

Now, in certain areas of the globe where the check average is very low, more than 20% gratuity is expected. Your saving a good bit of money on food and drink, so show your appreciation and tip your server well.

In other areas where check averages are extremely high, the gratuity is still 18% plus. If you know your going to an expensive restaurant and your about to spend a grip, why would you not include the server or bartender. Then at the end of the visit you want to tip $5 on $100 and act like you did them a favor.

The taxes on that $5 on $100 for the server can be as high as 7%, which means the server literally lost $2 just serving you. What a waste of time.

Then there's the people who start looking for something to complain about so they will get free food and drinks. In some instances it may just be warranted, but after getting free food or drink they want to tip $2 because they don't have a check.

Listen, what ever the total should have been with all the freebies is what you base your tip on. Stop being so damn cheap!!! You want someone to work for you, then you don't want to pay them?

The bottom line is, people make their living from tips and gratuity, not their paychecks because the paychecks usually say "void" or all zeros. It's a lot of foot hurting, back aching, sometimes mind scrambling work. Work that you cannot fully appreciate unless you have done it yourself and then you would be tipping 30% to 70%.

Plan on tipping well, you really don't want to be the one that everyone in the industry calls the cheap bastard and no one wants to serve. WJS - WE'RE JUST SAYING!!!!!
