Tomatoes and Potatoes, Same Tree?

A unique plant that grows both tomatoes and potatoes is to be launched in Britain for the first time. Dubbed the “ketchup and chips tree”, the bizarre TomTato is aimed at families who have limited garden space and those living in flats.

And the wacky hybrid which has taken six years to perfect through hard graft, is expected to fly off shelves when it hits Morrisons stores on Monday.

The two-in-one which can grow to a metre high, has cherry tomatoes on top and white potatoes underground. Developed by Ipswich-based horticultural firm Thompson and Morgan, the plants are grown in the Netherlands for Morrisons. READ MORE:
